Budget Bonding with Son

Today I ran errands with my little boy, and we had some mommy and me time.

Being eco-conscious, we did all of this stuff on the same street. First, we stopped at Kroger for some of that yummy, day old, 85 percent off bread, and how could we forget those mini hotdogs and gourmet lunch meat for 85 cents off, too. Not to mention those pounds of Jimmy Dean sausage for 33 cents each or the turkey sausage for 39 cents. (I have to mention we rarely eat sausage, so please no cholestrol warnings).

Then we stopped a rummage sale, where he played happily while mamma stuffed barely-worn Target dresses and clothes for my daughter in the bag sale bag (getting some Blue’s Clues books for him certainly improved his mood.)

Last, but not least, we stopped at the library. I dropped some books, then we hit the library book store. Most libraries sell books, either on a continual basis or a once- a year sale. This library has it every weekend. Actually, I like the neighboring town’s library book sale better, but it wasn’t worth the gas to drive across town.

Later that day, my husband watched the kids as I went across the street for a garage sale. Really nice kid’s stuff, and I got myself a few things, including Calvin Klein Jeans. The cost for a bag: $11. She asked me if the price was OK?????
